Mr. Dummit is an aggressive trial attorney who has earned a reputation for successfully and professionally representing his clients in the courtroom. He routinely represents clients with charges varying from Driving While Impaired to Drug Trafficking in criminal courts. Mr. Dummit also litigates for victims in cases ranging from simple auto negligence to medical malpractice and wrongful death cases.

Barbara Rynne

Barbara J. Rynne

Ms. Rynne has rejoined the Firm after spending three years as an Assistant District Attorney in the Mecklenburg County DA's Office. She focuses on criminal law and family law.

Ms. Rynne is a dynamic litigator who has over 10 years experience prosecuting a wide range of cases, including high level felony drug cases, homicides, robberies and assaults. As an ADA in Mecklenburg County, she was also responsible for prosecuting all traffic matters, including DWI cases, domestic violence cases and habitual felons charged with drug and property crimes. She has tried approximately 100 jury trials and hundreds of bench trials.

Michael FradinMichael S. Fradin

Mr. Fradin joined the firm in 2007 and concentrates his practice in criminal law and sports law.

Prior to joining The Dummit Law Firm, Mr. Fradin was honored to clerk for the Honorable Linda G. Baxter of the Appellate Division of the New Jersey Superior Court.

Mr. Fradin spent two summers working in the District Attorney's Office in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Brian P. Simpson

Mr. Simpson joined the firm in 2010 and practices criminal and civil law with a focus in the area of fiduciary litigation.

Mr. Simpson graduated in 2003 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a double major in Political Science and Philosophy. He earned his law degree from the University Of Arkansas School Of Law in 2007. While there, Mr. Simpson was on the Dean’s list, a member of Phi Delta Phi honors fraternity and a Note and Comment Editor for the Journal of Food Law and Policy.

V. James Filliben III

Mr. Filliben joined the firm's Charlotte office in 2012.  He focuses his practice primarily on Criminal Defense.  Prior to joining The Dummit Law Firm, Mr. Filliben practiced law in Winston-Salem for two and a half years, where he handled DWI defense, misdemeanors, District and Superior Court felonies, and assisted with capital and non-capital murder cases.

Ms. Cini joined the firm in 2011. She focuses her practice primarily on domestic law and Social Security, but handles other areas as well.

Ms. Cini has interned with criminal and personal injury firms in South Carolina and completed judicial clerkships in Michigan, in addition to her recent work with Legal Aid of North Carolina.
